This article was written by Miranda O., voice of the customer associate and University of Dayton student.

I started at Reynolds remotely last summer as a part-time associate after applying to several marketing internships at the company. A recruiter recommended I apply for a voice of the customer, or VOC position. They said this would include talking to customers and collecting data from them, which sounded like something I would enjoy.

I chose Reynolds because throughout my last three years at the University of Dayton, many recruiters had come to my classes to talk to us about opportunities and what it takes to work for them. I knew they were a UD partner and I’d heard from multiple sources they are a good company to work for. It was a great decision.

I enjoyed working remotely, but I didn’t truly appreciate my role and co-workers until I started working in the office. I loved meeting my coworkers. They are one of the best parts of my job. Even though not everyone is working in the office right now, we stay connected through a group chat. Whenever something funny happens, someone always makes a meme out of it. It’s a warm and welcoming environment.

I am a full-time student, so my schedule can be tricky to work with. Reynolds has been very flexible with me, which has been amazing. I am thankful to work with a company who allows me to put my schoolwork first and allows me to work around that schedule.

A typical workday starts with checking our message board and email. I spend a lot of time reaching out to customers based on different marketing objectives and data goals we have.

Every once in a while, we have meetings to discuss objectives and do data reviews. We will have presentations based on information from our data analysts and the results of our data collection.

One of my favorite parts about my job is seeing the impact it has on the business. The people who are making strategic decisions use this data. It’s a great feeling to know that you have accomplished something, even as a part–time associate who is still in school.
