This guest post was written by Jonathan, who participated in our sales internship program over the summer. Jonathan is a Corporate Communications major at Baylor University. He is a member of the Baylor Spirit Squad and cheers for Baylor athletics. He wanted to pass along a few words of advice to anyone in college, especially to those entering their senior year.

As senior year approaches, the inevitable draws closer. This time next year we will be leaving college and entering the work force, thus being thrust into the “real world” once and for all. As the end of our college career and the beginning of our professional career approaches, I want to pass along a few words of advice.

1. Cherish the little moments in life. As our lives get busy, we forget to take a moment to stop and smile. Do not let these moments pass you by.

2. Do not be afraid to fail. Failure is a building block of learning.

3. Ask questions. Never be afraid to seek advice from others.

4. Work hard. Nothing in this world is free.

5. Do something you love. Life is too short to do something that doesn’t make you happy.

6. Smile. Smiling has a greater impact than you will ever know.

7. Surround yourself with good people. Life is fun, don’t do it alone.

8. Sleep! Life’s greatest gift is a good nap.

In my short 21 years of life I have learned these things the hard way. Life will pass by in the blink of an eye, so it is important to make the most of every moment and always have fun. I will leave you with a quote by the greatest headmaster this world has seen, Dumbledore. “Words are our most inexhaustible source of magic.” So be kind, help others, and love life.
