An Interview with Antonio, Sales
A desire for professional growth and the presence of fresh challenges each day are just some of the qualities that could draw someone to a career in sales. Recently, I spoke with Antonio M., a salesperson in the Reynolds office in Birmingham, U.K., to get his perspective on the position.
Tell me a little bit about your life, education, and work history before Reynolds.
I was born and raised in London, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybercrime and Security. I’ve worked in Sales for the past eight years – selling security solutions and services, as well as cloud solutions.
What made you want to join Reynolds?
I saw a great opportunity to help grow the company’s footprint in London. Reynolds is a well-established organization with a great history and a great reputation.
Describe your typical day. What do you enjoy about your role?
I’m responsible for looking after the company’s clients in London and working on new business opportunities. A typical day involves me working with various company departments as well as visiting with clients and prospects and trying to arrive at solutions that make sense for them.
There’s a lot of variety in my day-to-day activity. In fact, that’s probably what I enjoy the most – the fact that each day brings about something new. I’m not often bored!
What skills do you think are essential to succeed in your position?
Anyone looking to succeed in this role needs to be highly motivated, have a structure for how they approach the work day, and enjoy being persistent.
Even for those with experience, it can be challenging to collaborate with all the different departments to make sure the solutions we are advising our clients on are correct for their business needs.
If you had to describe Reynolds in one word or short phrase, what would that word or phrase be?
Progressive.
