It’s no secret that Reynolds loves to give back. It’s one of the cornerstones of our company, something our associates pride themselves on most. And one of the ways Reynolds gives back is by investing in higher education to impact an important part of our communities — the next generation of associates.

Recently, Kasi Edwards, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Reynolds and Reynolds, announced new partnerships with Wright State University (WSU). Reynolds pledged $600,000 in scholarships over the next three years for Wright State business students. In addition, Edwards announced that Reynolds is pledging more money for an Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans program, also at WSU.

“Our goal is to prepare quality students for careers in the regions where Reynolds has a significant presence,” Edwards said. And when announcing the boot camp, she explained, “The aim of the program is to open up doors for veterans by developing their competencies in creating and sustaining an entrepreneurial venture.”

Since 1975, Reynolds has had a strong partnership with Wright State University, a higher education institution in the Dayton, OH area, just minutes from Reynolds’ headquarters. Reynolds has pledged scholarship money for students in STEM and business majors and has also launched initiatives to help students grow their skills. Some of these initiatives include the ReyRey Café, which we highlighted in an earlier post, and the Espresso Lane Café, a coffee shop at WSU located in the Russ Engineering Center.

But Reynolds doesn’t just partner with WSU. In Texas, where additional Reynolds offices reside, students learn and practice sales skills at the Reynolds and Reynolds Sales Leadership Institute at Texas A&M. Back in Ohio at the University of Dayton, students put their sales skills to the test at the Fiore Talarico Center for Professional Selling. Reynolds also sponsors scholarships at these and many other schools in the Dayton, Houston, and College Station areas.

These scholarships would not be possible without the Reynolds and Reynolds Company Foundation. For over 35 years, the Foundation has given towards higher education programs that prepare high-achieving students for roles in regions in which Reynolds has a significant presence.

In Edwards’ words, the goal of the Foundation is “to recognize students who are investing in their own education, and these scholarships are meant to give a boost to business or STEM students.”

In addition to programs and scholarships, Reynolds recruiters initiate a significant number of events with local universities. Recruiters attend career fairs, open houses, and networking events to share information about the company. They also work with college clubs and organizations, offer presentations on career and job search tips, and even host business etiquette classes. During a typical semester, Reynolds’ Recruiting team often sponsors and participates in 50-60 events with local colleges.

Reynolds invests in the next generation through these educational opportunities. The goal is to better our communities and prepare students to excel in their careers — whether at Reynolds or elsewhere.

“We have high hopes and expectations that these chosen students will go on to be leaders,” Edwards concluded.
