Out and About in Yellow Springs
One of the many places to visit in the Dayton area is the town of Yellow Springs, home to everything groovy and psychedelic. Visiting this vibrant place is a great way to spend a weekend this fall. Luckily this town is only 30 minutes from Reynolds, making the trip easy to fit into your schedule!
Yellow Springs is located northeast of Dayton and is named for a natural spring that leaves behind a yellow deposit. BudgetTravel.com named Yellow Springs one of “America’s Coolest Small Towns,” and for good reason. This place is home to over 65 shops and galleries, places to eat, and activities that last all season long. Farmers markets are open every Saturday from 7 a.m. until noon for anyone interested in food straight from the field.
The good vibes in this town are for both adults and children. Baby & Toddler Playtime is held in the community library every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Occasionally, childrens movies are shown there with popcorn and drinks provided.
One of the town’s most popular events, the Yellow Springs Street Fair, is coming up on Oct. 14, 2017. The Street Fair hosts over 250 vendors specializing in art, food, music, and beer. Performers will also be marching throughout the town while you shop at the local stores and vendor stations.
If you browse through all of downtown Yellow Springs and still have an appetite for more fun, there are hiking and biking trails nearby, as well as historic sites, a putt-putt golf course, the popular Young’s Jersey Dairy, and much more!
What would be better than going on a quick journey back in time after a week of fun at Reynolds? For more information on Yellow Springs, visit their website and explore options for your visit.
