Associates Roll Up Sleeves for Habitat of Greater Dayton
The Reynolds Associate Foundation partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton to help construct the framework of two homes for families in the Dayton area.
On an early Saturday morning, more than 170 Reynolds associates and their families gathered together for an on-site build. Participants worked in teams of five or six to complete the structures. By the end of the day, both frames were standing. A dedication for the homes was held on Reynolds’ campus the following week where the builders met and chat with the families who will be making the houses their homes.
The Associate Foundation is an associate-led foundation, supported largely by associate participation, which contributes to the Dayton community through volunteer events. This year’s build is the second on-site build hosted by Reynolds and the Foundation.
Here’s what associates had to say about the build:
“Working together on this project is not only a great way to meet new people, but also to make a real change for two families,” said Jennifer S. “No one can build a wall alone.”
“The event radiated a sense of togetherness and humility,” said Dylan P. “Seeing such a large number of associates come together to help others is an uplifting experience.”
“It was great to see so many people give up their Saturday morning to help families in need,” said Erik A. “It made me proud to be part of the Reynolds family.”
“I liked building a home for a family that would truly value it,” said Megan P. “I will, without a doubt, participate in this event again.”
Reynolds associates have a strong tradition of giving back to the communities in which they live and work. For more information, visit the Community and Culture pages on reyrey.com.
