Each month, the Dayton Business Journal features a member of Generation Dayton, a young professionals program. I’m thrilled to say that my colleague Jennifer Moore (pictured at left), a senior recruiter with Reynolds, is the featured professional for July.

As part of being the featured professional, Jennifer was asked to tell Business Journal readers a little bit about herself and her work experience. You can check out the full Q&A published on the paper’s website.

In the Q&A, Jennifer discusses how being a member of Generation Dayton has helped her get involved in the community and meet other young professionals and learn from their experiences.

She also talks about her personal interests, from volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House and The Foodbank in Dayton to attending the many summer festivals in and around the city.

When asked about her profession, Jennifer says:

“… I actually started as an intern in the Recruiting Department (at Reynolds) in the summer of 2009 and was hired on full time upon graduation. As a recruiter, it’s my job to both help the company identify talented candidates and to be a liaison between those candidates and our departments…

“… I hadn’t initially thought about recruiting as a career when I started college. Getting an internship in the field while I was in school definitely led me to my career choice today. I enjoy working with people in my position and it’s very rewarding when I am able to help someone start their career or help the classes we attend better prepare students for their future career searches. It’s also gratifying when I am able to identify a career field that gets a candidate really excited that they hadn’t even considered before.”

Jennifer also comments on her experience of working at Reynolds:

“… The company has a ‘work hard, play hard’ environment, from great training and development opportunities to volunteer activities and sports leagues…

“… Reynolds also provides resources that support associates in achieving health, wellness, and professional goals, and it’s evident in the onsite health clinic, fitness center, training classes, and cafeteria at Headquarters.

“The benefits are great, but I’m also proud to work for a company that has strong roots in the community. Reynolds was founded in Dayton in 1866. We are proud of our legacy of innovation, involvement in the community, and good works.”

Congratulations, Jennifer, and thanks for leading the way for other young professionals at Reynolds and throughout Dayton!
