As the director of the Recruiting department at Reynolds and Reynolds, I’d like to welcome you to #ReyReyLife and share a little bit about what we plan to accomplish here. Our aim is to offer you practical advice, tips, and insights associates have acquired throughout their careers. We hope you’ll find what we have to say useful in your job search and that you’ll get better insight into what it’s like to work at our company.

Let’s start with my insights. I started my career here fresh out of college as a recruiter in the Houston office. I’ve been at Reynolds for ten years, in a number of different roles, so I consider myself to have a broad understanding of what happens throughout our company. Now, I live in Dayton, Ohio, and I’m the director of Recruiting, responsible for the company’s U.S., Europe, and U.K. recruiting efforts.

In all my years here, there is one question that I’ve been asked more than any other during an interview: “What do you like most about working at Reynolds and Reynolds?” No matter how many times that question pops up, it’s still one of my favorite questions.

There are a lot of ways to respond. We have an incredibly strong brand. We compete in a dynamic and strong market – automotive and technology. Yet, my response usually goes something like this:

The difference between a good company and a great one can be measured by more than what it does. People are a big factor, and Reynolds has great people. I’m fortunate to get to come to work with people who are my co-workers and also my friends.

Ours is a friendly but professional work environment where people are encouraged to call each other by their first names – whether that’s the person in the cube next to you or the CEO. We celebrate our successes, and we support each other when there are stumbles. When you have a question, usually someone you know will have the answer, or can point you in the right direction to get the answer.

There are sports leagues, department outings, networking lunches and opportunities across the company to help you develop relationships with the people you spend most of your time with.

When I was ready to take up running, I turned to my friends in the department for support and a running partner. In fact, I met some of my best friends here. And, for me, that makes this more than just a job to come to every day.

That can sound extremely cliché, but in my experience, it’s also true.

With #ReyReyLife we want to introduce you to more than just the latest job postings on our website – everything from the expertise of our associates, to stories about Reynolds’ involvement in the community, to fun events we’re holding. I encourage you to keep reading, and hope someday you’ll want to become a part of the Reynolds team!
