Here at Reynolds, the artists make our innovation something that is visually intriguing. To gain an idea of what life is like as a graphic designer at Reynolds and Reynolds, we sat down with Danika, Michael, and Jenny on the design team and asked them a few questions…

What is a broad description of your job?

D: Our team uses type and image to create meaning.

M: The images I create help with marketing, and they do a lot of visual problem solving.

J: Our job is to create compelling visuals to help support product sales.

What is the most rewarding part of working on the design team?

D: You can own your product in a way. You create it and then work with it through all of the stages of development. You’re with it every step of the way.

M: It’s neat to see the designs in action.

J: Developing the voice or brand of the product. We make the ideas visual and then help to create fun campaigns.

What has been your favorite project(s) so far?

D: Reynolds has a number of products currently undergoing updates or rebranding, and it’s fun to work on those newer projects. There’s more flexibility. The projects are fun, light, and energetic.

J: I work on the more established projects and products. It is challenging, but fun. There’s a ton of variety with the work I can do.

What makes this team work successfully?

D: Coffee. We love coffee. And food. It is something we bond over.

M: Our group loves team building, like getting lunch together, and there’s an overall good team spirit.

J: Everyone is responsible.

What advice would you give to someone applying for a graphic design position?

D: Have a good portfolio. It needs to be professional, but it should also be fun.

M: Be able to talk about your work and explain it. Be able to answer the question “why did you make those visual decisions?”

J: Love the process, have something to offer, and be ready to be part of a team. When you get the job, bring snacks!

The design team also mentioned during the interview they have the latest software, and they have access to tutorials and a library of fonts. And, they said they loved working for Reynolds because they have the materials they needed for visually stunning campaigns.
